The Drug and Alcohol Response Team (DART) in Olmsted County tackles the often hidden substance misuse problem by connecting people to critical support services and resources.
DART’s mission is to help people who struggle with substance misuse survive and thrive, make healthier choices, and find a path to recovery.
As part of Olmsted County’s Diversity, Equity, and Community Outreach (DECO) program, the Drug and Alcohol Response Team (DART) supports individuals struggling with substance misuse by offering personalized care without judgment. Funded by opioid settlement money, DART works closely with law enforcement and healthcare providers to address drug-related incidents that would otherwise go unnoticed. The team members connect affected residents to vital services such as recovery support and harm reduction. As a result, DART directly impacts the community’s well-being by reducing barriers to care, especially for marginalized groups.
